Terms and Conditions

You can contact the Technology Playmaker Awards team with queries at the following address:

  1. The Technology Playmaker Awards 2019 ("the Awards") are organised by B.V. Herengracht 597 1017 CE Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

  2. The competition is open to all women, and men in the case of Role Model, over the age of 18 on the day of submission.

  3. Entries for the Awards are free of charge.

  4. A participant may enter any or all of the Awards categories.

  5. Entry for the Awards opens on 6th September 2018.

  6. Entry for the Awards closes on 6th January 2019.

  7. Entries received past the closing date are not eligible.

  8. The winners will be announced at the Awards ceremony in central London on 13th March 2019.

  9. We can only accept one entry per person, project or organisation for each category.

  10. You may submit an entry nominating yourself or nominating another person or an organisation in the case of the "Employer Award" category, but we will only accept an entry if we are able to contact the person or organisation concerned and they confirm that they wish to be nominated/entered.

  11. Nominees who are nominated by others, must also be informed of, and agree to these terms and conditions. This will be done by requiring the person nominating to tick a box when they submit the nomination to confirm that the nominee has agreed to the terms & conditions.

  12. We may block the web browser or IP address of any persons found to be making false entries.

  13. We cannot give an Award to any organisation or person that cannot be contacted after the entry has been submitted. We cannot be held responsible for any errors made when submitting your entry so please check the contact details you provide and update us on any changes.

  14. The criteria for shortlisting are determined beforehand and cannot be disputed.

  15. A shortlist of finalists will be selected in each category from the entries submitted by the closing date. It is not possible to appeal the shortlisting.

  16. Shortlisted finalists will be notified by email or phone within 21 days of the closing date and will be invited to the Awards ceremony, where the winners will be officially announced.

  17. The shortlisted finalist must acknowledge this notification by no later than two weeks after receiving such notification by emailing If the shortlisted finalist does not acknowledge the notification, we have the right to remove the finalist from the shortlist.

  18. We will try to notify the person thereof as soon as possible.

  19. The winners are selected beforehand. Therefore, if an Award winning finalist is unable to attend the Awards ceremony, this shall not affect winning of the specific Award.

  20. Up until the date of the Awards ceremony, we reserve the right to remove a finalist from the shortlist in case the entry turns out to be false or fraudulent, or in case of circumstances concerning the participant that may cause detriment to the reputation of the Awards, to, to its partners and/or to their related intellectual property rights. We cannot be held liable in relation to such decision, or its consequences.

  21. An independent panel of judges will select a winner for each category as well as one overall "grand prix" winner.

  22. The judges' decisions cannot be appealed. There will be no correspondence about the judges' decisions and the jury report will not be disclosed.

  23. The judges will explain their choices when announcing the winners and will explain how the finalists were selected, but unfortunately we cannot offer detailed feedback about specific shortlisting decisions or any details about individual entries.

  24. All Award shortlisted entrants and winners will be asked to take part in promotional activities relating to the Awards. and its partners involved (Ketchum Ltd with the Awards may use the details of the entry including name, location, details of the entry and any associated pictures or visuals in relation to the promotion of the Awards and the results of the Awards. This could include but is not limited to promotion on websites, press releases, case studies, media, filming at the awards event on 13th March 2019, all event collateral such as brochures and the book of winners, social media and print. We may alter or edit the entry content as appropriate, for the promotion of the Awards and their results.

  25. The panel of expert judges will be announced on the Awards' website and may change in the event of circumstances outside our control.

  26. No employee of, employee organising the Awards from either or Ketchum Ltd, nor their family members, nor anyone else connected with organising the Awards, may enter the Awards.

  27. We cannot be held responsible for entries lost, delayed, misdirected, illegible or incomplete or which cannot be entered for any technical or other reason. Proof of delivery of entry is not proof of receipt.

  28. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the Netherlands.

  29. If a provision of these terms and conditions is invalid, this shall not affect the validity of the other provisions.

  30. We reserve the right at any time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, any or all Awards with or without prior notice due to reasons outside our control or due to other circumstances, at our discretion. Such decision is final and binding.

  31. The Awards will be awarded by Ketchum Ltd, acting on behalf of

  32. To the extent permitted by applicable laws, we are not liable for any failure to comply with our obligations where such failure is caused by something outside our reasonable control. Such circumstances shall include, but not be limited to, weather conditions, fire, flood, hurricane, strike, sickness, industrial dispute, war, hostilities, political unrest, riots, civil commotion, inevitable accidents, supervening legislation or any other circumstances amounting to force majeure.

  33. The "Technology Playmaker Awards" name, the website, logo and all corresponding and related marketing material for the Awards are the intellectual property of who own, manage and administer the Awards and reserves all rights related thereto. Using any of these without our permission constitutes (outside the legally permitted limitations) an infringement of our intellectual property rights, for which you may be held liable. Please contact us if you wish to make use of such materials, and follow the guidelines we provide in this respect. If you do make use of it without our permission, or outside the legally permitted limitations [or if you do not comply with the provided guidelines] or if you make false claims in relation to the Awards, you are to cease and desist this use upon our first request and remove any published material.

  34. The winner is entirely responsible for assessing and paying all applicable federal, provincial, state and local taxes in any respect of the prize received, if any, including any income or withholding taxes. In the event that the Sponsor is or may reasonably become obliged to pay any withholding tax in relation to the prize, the Sponsor is entitled to deduct such tax from a prize. All entries must be made in accordance with these terms and conditions.

  35. Our decisions in relation to all matters connected with the Awards are final and binding.

  36. No correspondence can be entered into in respect of any such decisions.
